Gisela May

Gisela May born in Wetzlar 31th May 1924 is a German actrice and singer.

May studied at a theater school in Leipzig. After that she worked in theaters in Schwerin and Halle. From 1951 she plays several roles in the Deutsches Theater of Berlin. In 1962, at the age of 30, she played for the Bertolt Brecht's theater group in Berlin. Zo also played 'Madame Cabet' in The Days of the Commun, 'Mrs. Peachum' in the Threepenny Opera, 'Mother Courage' in Mother Courage and Her Children. From 1992 she played in at the Renaissance-Theater in Berlin. In 2002 she earned the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 2013 she could be heared at the Kurt Weillweek at the Komische Opera Theater.
